About Sacred Peru Retreats

Sacred Peru Retreats is a small-group plant medicine retreat company based in Peru, guiding modern seekers through traditional ayahuasca ceremony in the Amazon and San Pedro (Huachuma) ceremony in the Sacred Valley, culminating in a sacred pilgrimage to Machu Picchu. Co-founded by Q'ero-initiated Shaman Danny Rojas and Peruvian guide Gerson Zea, our retreats blend lineage-honoring indigenous ceremony with trauma-informed integration support and Quechua-language access to authentic Andean and Amazonian communities.

We believe healing is not a weekend — it is a path. Every journey we lead, from the rivers of Iquitos to the high stones of Machu Picchu, is designed as a complete arc: thoughtful preparation, ceremony rooted in indigenous tradition, and meaningful integration that turns insight into lasting change.

Danny Rojas

Co-Founder · Lead Facilitator

Danny's path to Peru began with a calling and an unexpected turn. After a divorce, the collapse of his businesses, and a long descent into pain that no substance could numb, he saw a documentary about plant medicine and made a quiet intention: he would travel to Peru to heal. He began saving for the journey. But the medicine met him where he stood. A shaman appeared in California, and within weeks Danny was sitting in his first ceremony crying by the fire, releasing years of trauma and generational pain, remembering himself.

Since that night, Danny has facilitated hundreds of ceremonies and was initiated as a Shaman through the Q'ero lineage of the Andes in Peru the same lineage that has carried this work through the high Andes for centuries. Returning to Peru with seekers is a homecoming as much as a service.

He leads with humility, strength, and compassion, holding space for participants to walk through the same gates that gave him his life back.
