Terms and Conditions

Sacred Peru Retreats | Effective Date: September 30, 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in any Experience, program, or service offered by Sacred Peru Retreats. By booking an Experience or submitting a payment, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. ABOUT SACRED PERU RETREATS

Sacred Peru Retreats is based in Cusco, Peru, and offers intimate, small-group guided Experiences that include traditional indigenous ceremonies, sacred site visits, and cultural immersion in the Peruvian Andes. Our Experiences take place in Peru, where the ceremonies we share are conducted within the indigenous traditions that have held this work for centuries.

2. YOUR EXPERIENCE AGREEMENT

Every guest completes and signs the Sacred Peru Experience Agreement before their Experience. The Agreement includes the Booking, Cancellation and Refund Terms for your Experience and the Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk. These Terms apply alongside your signed Experience Agreement. If anything in these terms conflicts with your signed Experience Agreement, the Experience Agreement governs.

3. ELIGIBILITY

To participate, you must be at least 18 years of age or join with a parent or legal guardian who signs the Experience Agreement on your behalf; tell us before your Experience about any health, medication, or mobility consideration that may affect your participation; be physically able to take part in the activities included, which may include walking on uneven terrain, hiking, and time at high altitude; hold any required travel document, including a valid passport for Machu Picchu and Inca Trail entry; and have read and agreed to these Terms and signed your Experience Agreement.

Sacred Peru Retreats may decline or cancel a booking where participation would create a risk to your safety or the safety of others. This decision is always made in service of your wellbeing. If we decline a booking, the refund terms in your Experience Agreement apply.

4. HEALTH AND SAFETY

Many of our Experiences take place at high altitude. Cusco and the Sacred Valley sit above 9,000 feet, and some Experiences reach considerably higher. Altitude sickness can affect anyone, regardless of fitness. We recommend allowing a day or two in Cusco to acclimatize before your Experience.

If you have a health condition, take regular medication, are pregnant, or have concerns about your mobility or fitness, please tell us before your Experience so we can talk it through with you privately. You are responsible for consulting your own physician before travelling. Sacred Peru Retreats is not a licensed medical provider, and nothing we offer constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

5. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

By joining an Experience, you acknowledge that high-altitude environments can cause altitude sickness; that trails and sacred sites may involve steep, uneven, or slippery ground and changing weather; that some Experiences include travel by vehicle, train, or all-terrain vehicle, each of which carries standard travel risks; and that traditional ceremonies and visits to sacred places can be emotionally meaningful. The full release of liability is set out in your Experience Agreement. You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Sacred Peru Retreats, its founders, staff, guides, and local partners shall not be liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from your participation in any Experience, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct, and subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

7. NO GUARANTEE OF OUTCOMES

We do not guarantee any specific personal or spiritual outcome from an Experience. Weather, site access, and each person's inner experience vary.

8. PAYMENTS

Full payment is due at the time of booking. Your date is confirmed separately once guide availability and any required entry, permit, and transport arrangements have been verified. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).

9. CANCELLATIONS, DATE CHANGES, AND REFUNDS

Cancellation, date-change, and refund terms are set out in the Booking, Cancellation and Refund Terms of your Experience Agreement, which you review and accept before payment. To cancel or change your date, email info@sacredperuretreats.com with your name and booking reference. If Sacred Peru Retreats cancels your entire Experience before departure, including because conditions prevent us from operating safely, you may choose a full refund or an available alternative date.

10. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

By joining an Experience, you agree to be ready at your confirmed pickup time and place, tell us about any change to your health or mobility, respect the indigenous traditions, guides, and communities you encounter, refrain from alcohol and recreational substances during your Experience, support the safety of the whole group, and follow the guidance of your guides. Failure to comply may result in removal from the Experience, as set out in your Experience Agreement.

11. PHOTOGRAPHY

Ceremonies are sacred spaces. Photography and video during a ceremony is not permitted without explicit permission from your guide. During other portions of your Experience, photography is welcome with sensitivity. Please always ask before photographing individuals from local communities.

12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content and materials provided by Sacred Peru Retreats are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced or published without prior written permission.

13. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. Disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation and, if unresolved, through binding arbitration under the laws of Peru.

14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Sacred Peru Retreats may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website. Changes do not alter the terms of a booking already made.
