Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in any retreat, program, or service offered by Sacred Peru Retreats. By booking a retreat or submitting a deposit, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. ABOUT SACRED PERU RETREATS

Sacred Peru Retreats is a retreat company based in Cusco, Peru, offering immersive ceremonial journeys that include traditional plant medicine ceremonies, sacred site visits, and cultural immersion in the Amazon and the Andes. Our retreats are held in Peru, where the ceremonies we offer are conducted within the indigenous traditions that have held this work for centuries.

2. ELIGIBILITY

To participate, you must be at least 18 years of age, complete a full medical and psychological screening prior to booking confirmation, disclose all current and recent medications and psychiatric history, be physically capable of activities including hiking and high-altitude travel, and have read and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

Sacred Peru Retreats reserves the right to decline or cancel any booking based on screening results, at our sole discretion. This decision is always made in service of your wellbeing.

3. MEDICAL SCREENING AND SAFETY

All participants must complete a full medical and psychological intake before their spot is confirmed.

IMPORTANT: Ayahuasca contains monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), which have significant and potentially dangerous interactions with SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclic antidepressants, lithium, certain heart medications, seizure medications, and other common substances. Participation while taking contraindicated medications can cause serious injury or death.

You are responsible for consulting your own physician before and after attending. Sacred Peru Retreats is not a licensed medical or mental health provider.

4. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

By attending, you acknowledge that plant medicine ceremonies can produce intense physical, emotional, and psychological experiences including purging, disorientation, and emotional intensity; that high-altitude environments above 11,000 feet can cause altitude sickness; that the Amazon jungle involves exposure to heat, humidity, insects, and wildlife; and that travel carries standard travel risks.

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Sacred Peru Retreats and its team shall not be liable for any injury, illness, psychological distress, loss, or damage arising from participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. No guarantee of any specific therapeutic, spiritual, or transformational outcome is made.

6. NO GUARANTEE OF OUTCOMES

We do not guarantee any specific result from participation. The medicine works in its own way, in its own time.

7. PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS

A deposit is required to reserve your spot. The remaining balance is due prior to the retreat start date. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).

8. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

More than 60 days before retreat start: Full deposit refund
30 to 60 days before retreat start: 50% of deposit refunded
Less than 30 days before retreat start: Deposit is non-refundable
Retreat package balance beyond deposit: Fully refundable with 30 or more days notice

Sacred Peru Retreats reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, participants receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future retreat.

9. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

By attending, you agree to follow the pre-retreat dietary guidelines (dieta), disclose any health or medication changes, respect the indigenous traditions and communities you encounter, abstain from alcohol and recreational substances, support the safety of the entire group, and follow facilitator guidance during ceremonies.

Failure to comply may result in removal without refund.

10. PHOTOGRAPHY AND PRIVACY

Photography during active ceremonies is not permitted without explicit permission. During other portions of the retreat, photography is welcome with sensitivity. Always obtain consent before photographing local community members.

11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content and materials provided by Sacred Peru Retreats are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced or published without prior written permission.

12. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. Disputes shall be addressed through good-faith negotiation and, if unresolved, through binding arbitration under the laws of Peru.

13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Sacred Peru Retreats may update these Terms at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
