Four stops in one day, not two.
Many days on this road visit only Moray and Maras. Ours begins with the weavers of Chinchero and closes at a farm-to-table table in Cusco. At Casa Urpi, a weaving cooperative in Chinchero, the women show you how wool becomes cloth, spun by hand and dyed with colours from plants, minerals and insects. At Moray, Inca terraces descend in great circles into the earth, and the air changes from one ring to the next. At the Salt Mines of Maras, a warm spring of salt water still feeds thousands of pools stepped down the canyon, harvested by hand by local families since before the Inca. The day closes back in Cusco at a very special farm-to-table restaurant: a late lunch if you leave in the morning, or dinner if you leave later. All with an English-speaking Indigenous Quechua guide, who can tell you what these places mean to the people who still live beside them.

Tips
Travel insurance
There is no charge to visit Casa Urpi and no pressure to buy; if something speaks to you, the money goes straight to the woman who made it. Bring layers, sunscreen, sunglasses for the glare off the salt, comfortable shoes with grip, and some cash in soles for the weavers, the salt makers and a snack in Maras. Moray sits at about 3,500 metres, so a day or two in Cusco first makes the day easier. Groups of up to twelve are welcome, and 48 hours' notice is enough.
