Most people arrive at Machu Picchu by bus. You arrive on foot, through the Sun Gate.

The early train from Ollantaytambo leaves you at Kilometre 104. From there it is a day on original Inca stone, past Chachabamba and up through cloud forest to the terraces of Wiñay Wayna, climbing until the trail turns and the citadel is simply there, below you. Then the bus down to Aguas Calientes, dinner together, and the evening train back up the valley to Ollantaytambo, where you can stay the night or our driver takes you on to Cusco.
