Sacred Journey
A 5-Day Spiritual Journey Through Cusco & the Sacred Valley
This 5-day boutique journey by Sacred Peru Retreats offers an intimate immersion into the living spiritual traditions of the Andes. Designed for travelers seeking depth without excess, this experience weaves together sacred landscapes, ancestral ceremony, gentle adventure, and intentional integration.
Rooted in the Andean cosmovision, the journey invites participants to slow down, listen deeply, and engage with the land as a living teacher. Rather than rushing from site to site, each day unfolds with presence—allowing meaningful connection to sacred places, cultural wisdom, and inner reflection.
This is not mass tourism. It is intentional travel guided by ethics, lineage, and respect for community traditions. Small group sizes, experienced facilitators, and thoughtful pacing create a container that feels both supportive and expansive.

Day 2
Horseback Journey Through Sacred Inca Temples
Half Day | Overnight: Cusco
This day invites embodied connection with the land through movement and presence. Guided by local horsemen, participants ride through the hills above Cusco, visiting ceremonial sites that reflect the Inca’s deep relationship with the natural world.
Stops include Sacsayhuamán, a monumental ceremonial complex; Qenqo, known for ritual stone carvings; Pukapukara, a site of guardianship; and Tambomachay, the sacred water temple. Time is given for quiet reflection overlooking the Cusco Valley, allowing the teachings of the land to be felt rather than explained.
Focus: Movement, connection to the land, ancestral pathways

Day 3
Sacred Valley Plant Ceremony & Inner Reflection
Overnight: Ollantaytambo | 3★ Hotel
The journey continues into the Sacred Valley, where the energy softens and the pace naturally slows. Participants gather for a preparation circle and teachings on Andean plant wisdom and cosmology, emphasizing respect, intention, and informed participation.
Those who feel called may take part in a traditional San Pedro (Huachuma) ceremony, guided with cultural integrity and care. The ceremony is followed by silent integration time in nature, allowing insights to settle organically.
The evening is spent resting in Ollantaytambo, one of the Andes’ most powerful ceremonial towns.
Focus: Inner clarity, healing, heart-centered awareness

Day 4
Short Inca Trail: Pilgrimage to Machu Picchu
Overnight: Machu Picchu Pueblo | 3★ Hotel
This day marks a sacred pilgrimage. After an early transfer to KM 104, participants walk the Short Inca Trail, following ancient stone paths once traveled by Inca pilgrims and messengers.
The hike culminates in a powerful entrance to Machu Picchu through Inti Punku (the Sun Gate)—a moment often experienced as reverent and deeply symbolic. The remainder of the day is reserved for rest, reflection, and gentle integration.
Focus: Pilgrimage, endurance, remembrance

Day 5
Machu Picchu: Sanctuary of Light & Return to Cusco
Overnight: Cusco | 3★ Hotel
At sunrise, participants receive a guided exploration of Machu Picchu, including the Sacred Plaza, Temple of the Condor, and Intihuatana stone. Historical context is woven with spiritual insight, allowing the site to be experienced as a living sanctuary rather than a monument.
A closing gratitude ritual honors the land, the journey, and the shared experience before returning to Cusco. The retreat concludes with integration, reflection, and intentional closure—supporting a grounded return to daily life.
Focus: Integration, gratitude, completion
